fortune magazine named google the best scum pcompany t for in america. we are betting some of that has to do with all the free food there, breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you may not know that google's legendary cafeterias are as optimized as their search engine, from color coded food to subliminal cues, abc's juju chang got a look. >> reporter: it is lunchtime at the google office in manhattan, free food, all you can eat, 24/7. ashley is a happy googler who wants to show me around. >> i am saving myself. there is a lot more. >> reporter: good. like everything google the cafeteria has been hyperanalyzed and reengineered and, it is loaded with nudges to nudge people toward healthy choices. >> we come in the entrance way,

you see the salad bar first. >> reporter: if you are starving you will go for the first thing you see. research shows people tend to pile up on the first thing they see. so the salad bar occupies prime real estate. >> color coded signs to let you know what is healthy. obviously everything in the salad bar is more or less pretty healthy. >> reporter: it wasn't always this way, the healthy nudges began when googlers started complaining they were packing on the pound. >> some people may gain 15 pound when they start working here. >> reporter: because the food is so great. basically it is your fault? >> i'm partially to blame. >> reporter: joe is the executive chef at google's manhattan office. he says the unlimited food perk originally designed to maximize pro dick ti productivity had a side effect. >> a lot of people don't. >> so now, smaller plates and takeout containers nudge you to take smaller portions. no one wants to be seen with too much on their plate. >> i am only halfway through the

aspen. white has barely competed in the event since last winning it in 2009 but he is determined to regain his crown and allowed us an incredible inside look at his preparation. there was a lot of talk which was interesting, "no, he can't come back. he is too far gone." that was probably the best thing i could have heard it really motivated me to do well. and i went from dead last, at the first competition, to first place. and it was something that felt amazing to me because i had put all that work in to learning the new tricks and then to be able to perform them under pressure at that moment and against the best guys in the world and to win. that was everything. when people say that i really can't do things that's when i kick into a different gear and i try to show them that they're wrong.
